About Michael Elhihi – Founder of Front Seat Academy
I started Front Seat Academy with a simple mission – to guide the next generation of fire service leaders in their journey from firefighter to company officer. Throughout my career, I have developed a deep passion for leadership, becoming a dedicated student of the craft. I have drawn knowledge, skills, and abilities from a wide range of sources, including military strategies, business principles, and frontline fireground experience, all of which have shaped my approach to leadership and training.
From my early days as a firefighter, through my deep involvement in the union, to my current role as a promoted company officer, I have seen the fireground through multiple operational lenses, bringing a unique perspective that blends traditional firefighting principles with cutting-edge insights, including AI, emerging technologies, and leadership philosophies from diverse fields. This combination has allowed me to create a modern approach to promotional preparation that drives real-world success. I understand the challenges of leadership at every level and aim to pass on the lessons I've learned to those stepping into these critical roles. I’ve seen firsthand the impact of strong leadership on the fireground and in the firehouse. I believe that preparing for the promotional exam isn’t just about studying; it’s about building the mindset and skills that translate into confident, decisive action when it matters most.
